The 7-day website: how AI changed our process

ProcessFebruary 15, 2025

The old process looked like this: discovery call, proposal, revisions to the proposal, kickoff call, wireframes, revisions to wireframes, design, revisions to design, development, QA, launch. Six weeks minimum. Often eight.

Most of that time wasn't design. It was coordination. Scheduling calls. Waiting for feedback. Reformatting deliverables. Writing proposals that said the same thing every time.

AI didn't replace the design decisions — it replaced the overhead. Code generation handles the boilerplate. Content drafting gets a first pass in minutes instead of hours. Component libraries build themselves from design tokens.

What's left is the work that actually matters: understanding the business, making typographic decisions, choosing the right layout, writing copy that sounds like a human. That part still takes the same amount of thought. It just isn't buried under six weeks of process anymore.
